Missions
It has been said that the only gifts you can ever really keep are the ones you give away. Giving of ourselves in service to others provides an education that goes far beyond what can be learned in the classroom or from books. These are the lessons that last a lifetime, and touch the lives of many both locally and abroad.
Harbor Light Christian School staff and students devote over a week each year to helping others in our local communities, our country, and around the world.
Mission Trip Policy
The goal of the HLCS Mission Trip policy is to develop a heart for missions and a Christian World View as an integral part of our students Christian Education. Part of the strategy for developing these characteristics is exposure to cross-cultural missions outreach. Such exposure is therefore a mandatory requirement for graduation from HLCS.
A requirement for graduation from HLCS is that a student must participate in a cross-cultural mission trip that has had prior approval of the HLCS Board. This trip can be done individually or in a group setting, although a team (or group) concept is preferable.
The HLCS Missions Outreach Coordinator will plan at least one mission trip annually that fulfills the missions outreach requirement. The Harbor Light Chapel Missions Department will also be available to students to act as a resource to them in providing other mission trip options.
"And as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren,
you did it unto me." Matthew 25:40
